Programs







The Medical Assistant program consists of 600 hours of classroom training and a 300 hour externship performed at a medical clinic or doctor’s office. The program teaches front office administrative duties and back office laboratory procedures. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will have the skills required for employment in a doctor’s office or medical clinic as a medical assistant. The maximum student : teacher ratio for the Medical Assistant course is 10:1.
		The Nursing Assistant course is 120 Hours of training consisting of 75 classroom hours and 45 clinical hours. The clinical portion of the training is conducted at a long term care facility. All instruction is given by registered nurses. The classroom portion of the training is broken down into five modules and includes both lab and lecture. The clinical portion is hands on patient care under supervision of an Americare instructor. Included i the training are all state and federal required elements which prepare students for the *State Competency Evaluations* and for employment as a Nursing Assistant.
	The objective of the Massage Therapist program is to prepare students to obtain entry-level positions in health care services or wellness and personal services; promoting, maintaining or restoring health and well-being through the practice of massage therapy and bodywork. The program consists of 720 hours of instruction including 420 hrs. of lecture, 300 hrs. of lab The maximum tudent:instructor ratio for lecture & lab is 16:1.

Calendar

School is in session 12 months a year. School will be closed for the following holidays:
New Years Eve and Day, ML King’s Birthday, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day,
Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Eve & Christmas Day. In case of inclement weather,
call the school for school closings or delays.

Nursing Assistant

Class Schedules:
Monday - Thursday, 9:30am - 12:30pm
Monday - Thursday, 6:00pm - 9:00pm
Monday – Thursday, 1:00pm – 4:00pm
These classes are 3 hours per day, 4 days per week, 12 hours per week for a total of 10 weeks.

Saturdays: 9:00am - 3:30pm

These classes are six hours per day, with a 1/2 hour lunch break, 1 day per week, 6 hours per week for a total of 20 weeks.

Medical Assistant

Class Schedules:
Monday - Friday, 9:30am - 3:00pm
These classes are 5 hours per day with a
half hour break, 5 days per week, 25 hours
per week for 36 weeks.

Monday - Friday, 6:00pm - 10:00pm
These classes are 4 hours per day, 5 days per week, 20 hours per week for 45 weeks.

Massage Therapist

Class Schedules:

Day Schedule

Monday – Friday: 9:30am – 2:00pm (1/2 Hr. Break)

Four hours per day, five days per week,
twenty hours each week, f or 36 weeks

Evening Schedule

Monday – Friday: 6:00pm – 10:00pm

Four hours per evening, five nights per week,
twenty hours each week, for 36 weeks
