Attendance Policy

Student must maintain a minimum attendance rate of 80% throughout the classroom portion of training and 90% during the clinical or externship portion of training. Students falling below these levels will be placed on probation and must attain minimum attendance rates to be eligible to graduate.  Students who are more than 15 minutes late for class will be counted as absent for that day.  Make up classes may be arranged with the school director.  Students who leave a class early will be given credit for half day's attendance. Failure to achieve minimum attendance requirements will result in the student being dropped from the program.

Leave  of Absence

A leave of absence request must be submitted to the school director in writing and may not exceed 30 school days or 60 calendar days.  The request must be for specific reasons and must be accepted by the school director.  Only on request for leave may be granted per enrollment period.  Attendance record will reflect the dates a leave is granted.  Of the students fails to return from the Leave of Absence when scheduled, they will be dropped from the program.

Satisfactory Progress

The following grading system is used to evaluate a students academic progress:

90 - 100% = A
80 - 89% = B
70 - 79% = C
60 - 69% = D
 0 - 59% = F

Students are graded on written tests and quizzes and practical skills demonstrations. Students are evaluated the end of each module.  In order to maintain satisfactory progress, students must attain a minimum average of 75% for each module. Is a students average  is below 75% for any module, they will be placed on probation for the following module.  If the students fails the following module or cannot maintain an overall average of at least 75%, the student will be dropped from the program for failure to maintain satisfactory progress.

Refund Policy

If the school closes or discontinues a course or program, the school shall refund to each currently enrolled students monies paid be the student for tuition and fees and monies for which the student is liable for tuition and fees. All  fees paid by a student shall be refunded if the student chooses not to enroll in or withdraw from a school within 7 calendar days after having signed a contract.  Is the student chooses not to enroll after 7 days cancellation period but before the first day of instruction the school may retain the registration fee.

If after the 7 day cancellation period expires, a student withdraws after instruction begins, refunds shall be based on the total contract price of the course and shall include all fees except registration fees and any charges for materials, suppliers or books which have been purchased by and are property of the student. The minimum refund that a school shall pay a student who withdraws or is terminated after the 7 day cancellation period has expired and after instruction has begun is as follows.

A refund due to a student shall be based on the date of withdraw or termination and paid within 30 days from that date.  The date of withdraw or termination is the last day of attendance by the student.
In the case of an official leave of absence, if a student fails to return to training by the end of the leave of absence, a refund due to  a student shall be based on the date of withdraw or termination that paid within 30 days of the scheduled last day of the leave of absence.

Drug & Alcohol Abuse Policy

It is the expressed intent of Americare School of Allied Health to provide its student and staff with a drug and alcohol abuse.  All students and staff are required to sign a statement that they have read and understand the sanctions that can be imposed for violating the school's policy on drug and alcohol use and possession.  Any students violating these policies may be terminated from the program.  Any students or staff member seeking confidential assistance for drug or alcohol related problems may contact the school director for more information .
